Monterey Museum of Art: All You Need to Know Before You Go


Not everyone likes the idea of going to the beach on a weekend or visiting the park during their free time. More so for the introvert type, going to these places might just bore them. Good thing there are other places to visit like museums for those who love anything art. If you are around Monterey, Monterey Museum of Art is definitely worth your time. 
 
Here are some of the things that you need to know before you go. 
 
1. Monterey Museum of Art has 2 locations. One is at 559 Pacific St. which has masterpieces of early California painting and photography. And the other is at 720 Vira Mirada which houses the works of the greatest artists of the 20th century. 

2. La Mirada Branch is open for special events and programs only. So better check the museum’s schedule before you visit. 

3. Monterey Museum of Art in Pacific St provides 2-hour free parking for visitors.

4. An on-site complimentary parking is available only at La Mirada branch. 

5. The museum is open daily from 11:00am to 5:00pm except Wednesdays.

6. If you are planning to visit the museum on a holiday, better think twice because they are closed during these special holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year. 

7. Admission fee is $10 for adults; students with ID, members and visitors 18years and below can visit for free.

8. Photography of loan exhibits is not allowed.

9. Taking photos of galleries and gardens is allowed as long as it’s for personal use only.

10. Tripods, selfie sticks and cameras with flash are not allowed.
