TAKE TIME FOR A TOUR

Insider’s Tour

Get an insider’s look at the Aquarium by exploring exhibits with the most seasoned guides. Through their personal stories, you’ll meet new animals and fishes, go behind the scenes with jellies, and learn about groundbreaking research.

Sea Otter Conservation Tour

Are sea otters your favorite animal? You aren’t alone! This tour offers a close-up look at the Sea Otter Program, which has been studying and trying to save the threatened southern sea otter for more than 30 years.

Shark Tour
Ages: 8 to adult
When: Most Wednesdays and Saturdays year-round; Wednesdays and Fridays during the summer
Length: 75 minutes

Love sharks? Join just before they open the doors to the public and discover over a dozen species of sharks, skates and rays that call the Aquarium home! You’ll even get a behind-the-scenes view of one of their largest sharks.

Family Tour

Do your kids dream about getting closer to ocean animals? Designed with their youngest visitors in mind, this group tour takes you behind the scenes with Aquarium naturalists.

UNDERWATER EXPLORERS | Special Member Pricing

In this unique program, Monterey Bay Aquarium introduce kids ages eight to 13 to the underwater world through surface scuba diving. They will encounter amazing animals and discover the wonders of Monterey Bay while being safely guided by Aquarium dive staff in the Great Tide Pool. No experience is necessary, only a sense of adventure! They’ll run four programs a day between June 19 and September 4 (except from August 28 to August 31). Underwater Explorers is the most popular summer program and sells out quickly, so book online now!

SUMMERTIME SLEEPOVERS | Special Member Pricing

Sleep next to your favorite Aquarium exhibit this summer! Start your Sleepover experience with live music during Evenings by the Bay. When the doors close, continue to explore the Aquarium at your leisure with special programs and a light bedtime snack before you fall asleep in front of your favorite exhibit. Wake up with the fishes and enjoy a continental breakfast in the Cafe.

EVENINGS BY THE BAY | July 1–September 2

Monterey Bay Aquarium changed their extended summer hours this year to kick off the weekends a little early. During Evenings by the Bay this season you can linger until 8 p.m. on Fridays (July only) and Saturdays (July to September) at your favorite exhibits as you enjoy live music, beverages from a no-host bar, and delicious food. On Fridays in July only, enjoy popular Monterey Jazz Festival musicians.

On Saturdays from July to September a variety of live bands will entertain you, and you can purchase small bites from special menus created by the Aquarium’s Executive Chef, Matthew Beaudin, as well as a variety of beverages from a no-host bar.
